ABOUT Dalia and Paneer veggie Patties RECIPE

These crunchy veggie patties can be used not only in burgers but also in sandwiches, wraps, rolls or in pita bread with chutney, hummus, salsa and different sauces as dressings or can be shallow fried into smaller cutlets and served as an appetizer or as a snack.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1/4 Cup Dalia or Cracked Wheat
  2. 1 cup hot water
  3. 1/2 cup paneer, grated or crumbled
  4. 1/2 Cup beetroot and carrot, grated
  5. 1 small onion,chopped
  6. A handful of chopped coriander
  7. 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  8. 1 tbsp chilli sauce
  9. 2 tbsp whole wheat flour
  10. 3 tbsp toasted breadcrumbs,for coating
  11. Salt and pepper to taste
  12. Oil for shallow frying

Instructions

  1. Wash the Broken wheat or Dalia well, blanch it in 1 Cup of hot water for nearly 5 minutes, strain.
  2. Now add everything with the Dalia except bread crumbs and oil in a mixing bowl and mix well.
  3. Divide the mixture equally according to the size of the Patties you want and shape them accordingly with your palms.
  4. Coat them with the toasted bread crumbs ,this helps the patties to be fried without cracking or breaking.
  5. Shallow fry the patties in a pan till crisp and done on both sides.
