ABOUT Pasta Pakora / Fritters RECIPE

A simple and yummy pakoras made of bow tie pasta for your tea time snack. They can also be relished as appetizers along with tomato sauce or green chutney.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup pasta
  2. 2 green cardamoms
  3. 4 cloves
  4. 1" cinnamon stick
  5. 2 bay leaves
  6. 1 star anise
  7. 1/2 cup besan (gram flour)
  8. 2 tbsp. rice flour
  9. pinch of baking soda
  10. salt to taste
  11. 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
  12. 1/2 tsp. red chili flakes
  13. 1/2 tsp. garam masala powder
  14. 1 tsp. kasuri methi, crushed
  15. oil to deep fry

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta in sufficient water along with cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon, bay leaves and star anise. Drain and keep aside.
  2. Make a batter with besan, rice flour, all the dry spices and required quantity of water. The consistency should be neither too runny or thick.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Dip the boiled pasta in the batter and drop them gently in the hot oil in batches.
  4. Fry on a medium flame till golden in colour. Drain on a tissue paper and serve as an appetizer with tomato sauce or green chutney. They can also be relished as a tea time snack.
