Poland is a country where I live and Pierogi is the easily prepared and loved food here.There can be several variations to pierogi like meat pierogi,veg pierogi,fruit pierogi n so on.Here I present to you Potato Cheese Pierogi.Prepare it and enjoy it.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup all purpose flour or maida
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Water for kneading
  4. For Filling
  5. 2 large potatoes
  6. 1 cup ricotta cheese
  7. 1/2 tsp Pepper
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 1tbsp olive oil
  10. Water for boiling pierogis

Instructions

  1. PREPARATION OF THE DOUGH-
  2. Take flour and salt in a food processor ( the kneading one) and pulse it until they are well mixed.
  3. Pour not boilng but very warm water and start kneading the dough.It should be medium soft.
  4. PREPARATION OF FILLING-
  5. Boil potatoes and mash them with ricotta cheese, salt n pepper and keep aside.
  6. Now roll the dough to 1 mm thick chapati and cut into round shapes with the help of a cookie cutter.
  7. Take a pot filled with water and keep it for boiling.Add some salt to it.
  8. Now take round shapes of the chapati which you have cut one by one,stretch it a little and keep a little filling in it, seal in whatever shape you want.
  9. When all the sealing is done,slide the pierogis in the water which was boiling.
  10. Let them cook in water for about 5-7 min.
  11. Now heat some oil in a pan and place boiled pierogis until they are little golden.
  12. Your pierogis are done.
