ABOUT Potato Aval/Rice flakes/Sheera RECIPE

A special and unique sweet recipe for you all. Aval Potato kesari / sheera,prepared with Coconut milk. It is very easy to make , try it out.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Brown rice flakes or white rice flakes - 1 cup
  2. Potatoes - 3 nos(medium sized)
  3. Sugar - 2 cups
  4. Coconut milk - 1 cup
  5. Ghee - ½ cup
  6. Cardamom powder - ¼ tsp
  7. Kesari colour - a pinch
  8. ingredients for garnishing
  9. Cashews - 10 nos
  10. Ghee - 2 tbsps

Instructions

  1. Fry the cashews in the ghee till golden colour and keep aside.
  2. Boil the potatoes peel the skin, mash well and keep aside.
  3. Wash the rice flakes and squeeze the water from it.
  4. In a pan pour one cup of coconut milk and cook the rice flakes till it becomes soft.
  5. Add the mashed potatoes and mix it well.
  6. Add sugar , food colour and half portion of the ghee.
  7. Mix well and cook in a medium flame till it starts to thicken, add the remaining ghee and cook till the kesari gets a glossy/smooth texture.
  8. Add cardamom powder, food coloring and garnish it with fried cashews.
  9. Yummy Potato Aval Coconut milk Kesari is ready to serve.
