ABOUT Eggless Potato Garlic Chilli Bombs RECIPE

Potato garlic chilli bombs are flavor packed with a twist of mashed potato ..that not only enhances the taste but texture too !! These tiny rolls don't need much of kneading unlike the other bread rolls so an easy option for amateur bakers !!

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. For the bread rolls : 2.5 cups : Bread flour
  2. 1/2 cup : Boiled, peeled and mashed Potato
  3. 1.5 tsp : Instant yeast
  4. 3/4 cup : warm water
  5. 1/2 cup : warm milk
  6. 1 tsp : Salt
  7. 1 tbsp : Butter, softened at room temperature
  8. 2 tbsp : sugar
  9. 2 tbsp : Milk for brushing the rolls
  10. For the filling : 3 tbsp : unsalted butter , Softened at room temperature
  11. 2 tsp : Red chilli flakes
  12. 1 tsp : Mixed italian herbs/ Italian seasoning
  13. 1/8 tsp : salt ( avoid if using salted butter)

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients mentioned in filling section in a small bowl and set aside until use. In a bowl add the warm water , warm milk , sugar and mix in the yeast n keep it covered for proofing for 10 mins until frothy and foamy
  2. In a deep mixing bowl add the flour, mashed potato , salt and proofed yeast mixture and knead into a soft dough ..The dough will be slightly sticky
  3. Now dust the counter top or any flat surface with a tbsp of flour and invert the dough on to it ..and continue kneading until the dough is non sticky and smooth say for about 5 to 8 mins..
  4. Place this dough in a greased bowl and keep in a warm place covered for an hour or until well risen and doubled.. Once it doubles in size knock out the air by punching and take it onto a floured surface and knead for a min..
  5. Next weigh the dough and divide into 18 equal portions or just eye ball n divide.
  6. Now roll each dough ball into small thick discs and place little bit of butter n herb mix.. Now seal the edges by pinching them together as we do for the parantha
  7. Repeat the same with all the dough balls and place them in a ( butter ) greased baking pan. Now place this in a warm spot covered for an hour or until risen and doubled..
  8. Brush their tops with milk and bake them in an preheated oven 180 c for 20 to 22 mins or until golden.. Once they are baked to perfection , brush them with a tsp of butter ..
  9. Now these Potato garlic chilli flavorful bombs are ready to burst in your mouth ..
