ABOUT Raw mango pie RECIPE

The taste of sweet and sour raw mango stuffing is delicious with crunchness of pie crust.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For pie crust:
  2. 250g All purpose Flour
  3. 225g butter (chilled)
  4. 2 tbsp powder sugar
  5. Pinch of salt
  6. 1 tbsp chilled water
  7. For stuffing:
  8. 3 raw mango ( cut in to small pieces)
  9. 1/2 cup Sugar
  10. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  11. 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  12. 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
  13. 1/4 Tsp Asafoetida
  14. 1 tsp red chilli
  15. 1/4 tsp rock salt
  16. Salt (to taste)
  17. 2 tbsp Butter
  18. 1 tbsp cornflour

Instructions

  1. To make stuffing, heat butter, add mustard seeds, fennel seeds, coriander seeds and asafoetida.
  2. Add raw mango pieces, add red chilli, salt, rock salt and sugar, mix it well.
  3. Cook till sugar becomes caramelised, add cornflour, switch off the gas
  4. For pie crust add all purpose flour and sugar in a bowl, add butter and mix it well, add water and make a tight dough.
  5. Put it in polythin bag and place it in the refrigerator for 1/2 hour.
  6. Then divide it into 2 parts. Roll the first part, arrange it on greeced pie mould and pricks it with the help of fork, bake it on 160d for 10 min in preheated oven. Then add stuffing.
  7. Roll second part of pie dough and cut it into long streeps and arrange it on stuffing.
  8. Bake it on 160d for 20 to 25 min.
