These buns are great for tea time snack, even it tastes good when dipped in hot tea

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Ingredients for making buns-
  2. 3 cups wheat flour
  3. 1 tablespoon instant dry yeast
  4. 2 tablespoon sugar
  5. 1 tsp Salt
  6. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  7. 1 1/4 cup Lukewarm milk
  8. 2 1/2 table spoon oil
  9. 1 medium size onion finely chopped
  10. 7-8 garlic cloves finely chopped
  11. 2 green chilies finely chopped
  12. 2 teaspoon cumin
  13. 2 teaspoon fennel
  14. 1 tablespoon coriander leaves Finely chopped
  15. 1 tablespoon curry leaves finely chopped
  16. 1 teaspoon dry mint leaves powder
  17. 1 table spoon butter (for brushing)
  18. Ingredients for garnishing-
  19. 1 small onion sliced ​​in thin slices
  20. Chilli flakes as desired
  21. Coriander leaves as desired

Instructions

  1. Steps for making buns-
  2. In a medium sized bowl, mix warm milk, sugar n  yeast and allow to rest for 10 minutes or until it tunrs frothy.
  3. In another bowl, mix whole wheat flour, salt, baking powder and stir well and keep ready.
  4. Once the yeast mixture turns frothy, add oil and mix it then add the prepared flour mixture.
  5. Now add finely chopped onions, chilli, coriander leaves,curry leaves, garlic, cumin seeds, fennel and mint powder, mix everything well and now the dough turns to be a very sticky dough.
  6. Grease your hands with oil, and on a well floured surface knead the dough for 5-6 minutes to a smooth dough.
  7. Now grease the bowl with oil and keep the kneaded dough and cover the bowl with damp cloth and rest it in hot place for 2 hour .
  8. After 2 hours dough will be double in size and again knead it for 1-2 minutes.
  9. Divide the dough into 10 equal parts and make balls, grease, the baking tray with a butter and arrange the balls on it.
  10.  Then allow this to raise for 20 minutes, 
  11. Preheat the oven to 200°c.
  12. After this brush the top with butter and sprinkle sliced onions , chilli flakes and chopped coriander and bake it for 15-20 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
  13. Maska chaska masala buns are ready,serve them with hot tea.
