ABOUT Curd stuffed Onions RECIPE

A combination of different flavours in a unique dish. Curd is used as a stuffing which is flavoured with varieties of masalas. This curd stuffing inside the onions gives them a unique fusioned flavour.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Small onions, 6
  2. Curd, 3/4 cup
  3. Red chilli powder, 1/2tsp
  4. Turmeric powder, 1/4tsp
  5. Tandoori chicken masala, 1/2tsp
  6. Coriander powder, 1/4tsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Lemon juice, 1tsp
  9. Mustard seeds, 1tsp
  10. Asafoetida, 1/4tsp
  11. Oil, 1tsp
  12. Water as required for soaking onions

Instructions

  1. Take onions and peel and wash.
  2. Make a horizontal and vertical cut on all the onions, do not separate the pieces, just a cut.
  3. Now soak them in water for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Take curd and add all the masalas i.e. red chilli powder, turmeric powder, tandoori chicken masala, coriander powder, salt, lemon juice and mix everything well.
  5. Now take the onions and pour the curd mixture inside out with help of spoon. Insert the curd mixture well inside the onions.
  6. Now take a non stick pan and add oil then asafoetida and mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  7. Now add the onions and simmer the flame and cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  8. Now uncover and turn and then add leftover curd mixture and cook again for few minutes covered.
  9. Now uncover and let the curd mixture dry completely and switch off the flame.
  10. The delicious Curd Onions are ready. Serve and enjoy.
