Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 250 gms Yam
  2. Garlic- 6 cloves
  3. 1 and 1/2 tablespoon yellow mustard
  4. Juice of 1 lemon
  5. Salt 1/2 tablespoon
  6. Mustard oil 3 tablespoon
  7. 3 green chillies chopped

Instructions

  1. Peel and wash the yam. Pressure cook it in two cups of water, for 2 whistles .
  2. Let it cool and mash it like a potato mash.
  3. Make a paste of yellow mustard and garlic in a grinder.
  4. Now mix mustard paste , salt, lemon juice, chilli and oil.
  5. Whisk it all together. Check and adjust the seasonings.
  6. Yam chutney is ready. Transfer to clean container.
  7. You can have it all at once or you can let the chutney stand for 2-3 days in sun, it enhances the flavor.
  8. It stays good for 2 weeks in the fridge.

Hi, can the chutney be eaten instantly? I do not have the time to put it out in the sun.
