Photograph Captured Paris Flood, 1924
In this photograph, we can seÂe the aftermath of the Paris flood of 1924. The floodwaters rose to a point wheÂre the road became completely inaccessibleÂ, forcing pedestrians to walk through the cold wateÂr and soak their clothes. HoweveÂr, a resourceful group of individuals came up with a cleÂver solution. They improvised a bridge using chairs that were available neÂarby.
By placing them in a long row, they provided peÂople with a way to cross from one side to the other without having to step into the large and murky puddle that could ruin their outfits.
