Double Life
At one point, my friend had a job that required him to spend every other week in New York, which led to him maintaining both an apartment in New York and a house in our hometown. During the first year of this job, he was in a relationship with two different women in both cities. Then, for some inexplicable reason, he decided to propose to both of them and for the following year, he remained engaged to both women. After a year, he received a promotion that relieved him from the need to divide his time between the two cities. Consequently, he called off the engagement with the woman in New York and sold his apartment.
In a surprising and thoughtful move, heยญ presented his reยญmaining fiancรฉe with the engageยญment ring meant for another woman in New York. I’m not entirely sure how he managed to handle this situation, but it seems like everything always falls peยญrfectly into place for him.
Slip and Fall
When I was a young child, around 5 or 6 years old, I had trouble falling asleep. To help me get tired and drift off, my great uncle used to take me for walks. One particular night, at approximately 3 am, he took me for a walk. I grew up in a rough neighborhood during my early years, and as we were making our way back home, a man confronted us with a knife. He threatened to harm me unless my great uncle handed over money.
Despite the danger, my great uncle, who stood at about 6 feet 2 inches tall at the time, refused to give in to the demand. In a sudden and fearless move, he lunged forward and delivered a headbutt to the assailant, causing him to lose his balance on an icy curb, resulting in a fatal injury when he struck his head. In the aftermath of this harrowing encounter, my great uncle took my hand and hurriedly brought me back home. He sternly instructed me not to disclose the incident to anyone, fearing potential legal consequences.
