This is an interesting twist to the good old samosa that we all love.A very good starter recipe for kid's parties.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For covering:
  2. Wheat flour-1/2 cup
  3. All purpose flour-1/2 cup
  4. Semolina-2 tbsp
  5. Oil-1 tbsp
  6. Carom seeds-1/2 tsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. For stuffing:
  9. Potatoes -5
  10. Green peas-1/2 cup
  11. Turmeric-1/2 tsp
  12. hing -1 pinch
  13. Red chili powder-1 tsp
  14. Coriander powder-1 tsp
  15. Amchur powder-1/2 tsp
  16. Garam masala-1/2 tsp
  17. Green chili-1 , chopped
  18. Green coriander chopped -1 tbsp
  19. For slurry:
  20. Maida-2 tbsp
  21. Salt to taste
  22. Water as required

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1/2 CUP WHEAT FLOUR,1/2 CUP ALL PURPOSE FLOUR AND 2 TBSP SEMOLINA IN A BOWL. ADD SALT, CAROM SEEDS AND 1 TBSP OIL.
  2. KNEAD INTO A SEMI-SOFT DOUGH USING WATER.
  3. ADD 2 TSP OIL AND KNEAD TILL SMOOTH DOUGH IS FORMED.COVER AND REST FOR 20 MINUTES.
  4. MASH THE POTATOES IN A BOWL
  5. ADD PEAS AND SPICES.
  6. ADD CORIANDER.MIX PROPERLY.
  7. ADD 2 TBSP MAIDA AND WATER TO FORM SMOOTH MEDIUM PASTE.
  8. MAKE LEMON SIZED BALLS OF DOUGH AND ROLL INTO BIG ROTIS.
  9. PUT 2 BIG SPOONS OF STUFFING AND SPREAD EVENLY ON THE PREPARED ROTI.
  10. ROLL TIGHTLY INTO LOG
  11. CUT HALF INCH PIECES WITH A SHARP KNIFE.
  12. DIP PINWHEELS IN MAIDA PASTE.
  13. DROP PINWHEELS IN HOT OIL
  14. FRY OVER MEDIUM HEAT UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN , DRAIN EXCESS OIL AND SERVE

Pinwheel samosa or aloo bhakarwadi goes well with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
