ABOUT Vegetable khichdi (without onion garlic) RECIPE

This is ultimate comfort food when served with a bowl of dahi and papad. It is made moong dal and broken rice with veggies and basic spices.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Broken rice 1/2cup
  2. Moong daal 1/2cup
  3. Bayleaf 1
  4. Green chilli 2-3 slited
  5. Grated ginger 1tsp
  6. cumin seeds 1tsp
  7. turmeric powder 1/2tsp
  8. red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  9. Chopped vegetables 1cup
  10. ghee 1tsp
  11. salt as per taste

Instructions

  1. DRY ROAST THE MOONG DAAL TILL NICE AROMA COMES AND IT BECOMES LIGHT BROWN IN COLOR.
  2. AND SOAK WITH WATER.
  3. HEAT GHEE IN A PRESSURE COOKER.
  4. ADD CUMIN SEEDS,
  5. 2 SLITED GREEN CHILLI, 1TSP GRATED GINGER,1 BAYLEAF,
  6. 1 CHOPPED TOMATO AND MIX WELL.
  7. ADD THE VEGGIES IN THE COOKER AND MIX.
  8. ADD 1/2TSP TURMERIC POWDER,
  9. 1/2TSP CHILLI POWDER AND
  10. MIX WELL.
  11. ADD THE SOAKED RICE AND DAAL.
  12. MIX.
  13. ADD 2CUPS OF WATER.
  14. ADD SALT TO TASTE.
  15. MIX, COVER AND COOK FOR 3 WHISTLES IN MEDIUM FLAME.
