ABOUT Filo pouches RECIPE

This tasty and delicate filo pouches are perfect addition for ifthar or any special party events

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 20 filo sheets, 5 cm square each
  2. 1/2 cup minced chicken
  3. 2 boiled potatoes
  4. 2 onions finely chopped
  5. 1 tablespoons ginger garlic paste
  6. Few curry leaves
  7. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  8. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  9. Salt
  10. Oil

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook the potatoes for 2 whistles. Once cooled, remove skin and set aside
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onion, green chilly and curry leaves. Cook till onions turns translucent
  3. Add Ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw smell goes off.
  4. Add chicken and turmeric powder, garam masala, salt and mix well. Close pan and cook till chicken is done.
  5. Switch off the pan and let it cool completely. Now add boiled potatoes, mash well and set aside
  6. Preheat the oven to 180c/ 350 F. Spray baking trays with oil
  7. Cut the pastry sheets into square of 5cm each side. Spray one square of pastry with oil and place another on it as shown in pic
  8. Place a tablespoons of filling in the center of each square.
  9. Then gather up the corners to form a pouch and squeeze together gently to form a seal. Spray oil outside of the pouch.
  10. Bake in preheated oven for 15 min or until golden brown
