Ingredients Serving: 9

  1. Basmati rice-1 kg
  2. Mutton pieces -1 1/2 kg
  3. Onion-400-500gms
  4. Tomato-400 gms
  5. Green chilly -8
  6. Ghee-200gms
  7. Oil-200 gms
  8. Curd-200 ml
  9. Ginger garlic paste- 5-6 tblspn
  10. Coriander leaves-1/2 bunch
  11. Mint leaves-3/4 bunch
  12. Cardamom -6
  13. Cloves-4
  14. Cinnamon - 10 inches
  15. Biryani leaf-2 nos
  16. Chilly powder-4 tablspn
  17. Lemon-1 1/2(juice)
  18. Salt-per taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate mutton with salt, chilli powder, 2 table spoon ginger garlic paste, 50 ml curd for 30 mins to 1hour.
  2. Next put mutton mixture into pressure cooker and cook it for 3-4 whistles. Meanwhile soak rice for 30 mins.
  3. Take wide pan and heat it, pour ghee and oil into it.
  4. Add cardomom,cloves, cinnamon and biryani leaf to it, add sliced onion and salt and saute it,
  5. When onion becomes transculent then add ginger garlic paste and curd and chilli to it,
  6. When raw smell went add tomatoes to it and cook it for tomatoes becomes mushy.
  7. Add chilly powder to it. Add coriander and mint too. Next add the cooked mutton along with broth and put the stove in high flame, when broth dries add water to it. (Water measurements for rice is if u take one cup rice means you add 1 1/2 cup water)
  8. When the water is boiling add the soaked rice to it. 10 mins after put it in ver low flame and add lemon juice to it.
  9. Heat dosa tawa in high flame when it heats put it to very low flame and put the biryani pot into it.
  10. Close the biryani pot with lid and put any heavy weight pan in above the lid. Cook it for20 mins in very low flame and switch off the flame.
  11. Serve hot along with chicken 65 and any raita,jam.
