It's soup time. Yes, nothing is better than soup when days are getting cold. It is my kid's all time favorite, Vegetable Manchow Soup.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/2 cup finely chopped carrots
  2. 1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage
  3. 1/4 cup finely chopped green beans
  4. 1/4 cup finely chopped mushroom (Optional)
  5. 2 tsp finely chopped garlic
  6. 1/2 tsp finely chopped ginger
  7. 1 tsp finely chopped celery
  8. 1 tsp finely chopped green chilies
  9. 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  10. 1 tsp red chili sauce
  11. 1 tbsp vinegar
  12. 4 tbsp finely chopped green onions
  13. 3 to 4 tsp cornflour or cornstarch
  14. 4 cups vegetable stock
  15. 1 to 2 tbsp oil
  16. salt to taste


  1. Take cornstarch in a bowl. Add 1/2 cup of vegetable stock in it and mix it well. Keep aside. Heat a pan with oil.
  2. Add garlic, ginger, celery and green chilies. Saute till the garlic turns slightly brown in color.
  3. Add carrots and cabbage, mix again. Add green beans and mushrooms.
  4. Just mix them and after just a few seconds turn off the gas. Add salt, soy sauce and red chili sauce. Mix well.
  5. Add vegetable stock. Turn on the stove, boil it. Add vinegar and cornstarch mix.
  6. Keep stirring it. Turn off the stove when the soup gets little thick in consistency.
  7. Add chopped green onions. Serve it hot.
