ABOUT Herbal Prawn Soup RECIPE

Soups are a part of winter cuisine. You might guess it wrong if you have thought that soups belong to foreign land cuisine. Soups are very much a part of indian cuisine since ages. "Pattus" also had their speciality receipes for soups to fight the winter ailments. Herbal prawn soup is one such authentic receipe.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Tiger prawns - 10 - deshelled and deveined and cleaned properly,
  2. Ajwain /tymol leaves - 2 - finely chopped
  3. 1/2 cup Spinach leaves - cleaned, blanched and pureed
  4. Garlic flakes - 8 - finely chopped
  5. Dry ginger powder - a pinch
  6. Butter - 1/2 tsp
  7. Salt - as per taste
  8. Water - 4 1/2 cups
  9. Black pepper powder - as per your taste
  10. 1 small Onion - finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a soup pan, add finely chopped garlic to it and saute until fragrant
  2. Add finely chopped onion and saute until translucent.
  3. Add the cleaned prawns and salt with water and cook till they are done
  4. Add spinach puree and mix well
  5. Switch off and add dry ginger powder, black pepper powder and finely chopped tymol leaves and mix well.
  6. Serve hot with prawn pakodas.
