ABOUT Malpua RECIPE

Trust me this sweet fried pancakes are dangerously addictive, if you make them at home am sure you won't stop with just one. I enjoyed thoroughly making these cuties at home. This recipe is Sanjeev Kapoor's recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 litre Milk
  2. 1 cup Sugar
  3. Few saffron strands
  4. 1/4 cup Maida or all purpose flour
  5. Oil or ghee for frying

Instructions

  1. Boil the milk in heavy bottomed pan until it gets reduced to a thick consistency. Let the milk cool completely. Add the flour and keep for atleast for two hours in room temperature. The batter should be in pouring consistency.
  2. Keep aside 2 tablespoon of sugar with the remaining sugar make a sugar syrup as one string consistency. Dissolve the saffron strands in warm milk, add it to the sugar syrup.
  3. Pour the hot oil or ghee over it and flip it to cook on other. When both gets well cooked, remove the malpuas from the oil,drain the oil and drop them in already prepared sugar syrup.
  4. While serving top it with some chopped nuts and serve warm.
