Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. Lauki/Bottle Gourd - 1
  2. Onion - 1
  3. Mustard seeds - 1tbsp
  4. Zeera - 1tbsp
  5. Chana dal (optional) - 3-4 tbsp ( roasted)
  6. Salt as per requirement
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Coriander powder - 1/2 tbsp
  9. Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
  10. Green chilies - 4
  11. Ginger Garlic Paste - 1/2 tsp
  12. Milk - 1 Cup
  13. Coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Peel and wash the bottle gourd, remove its seeds. Chop into small cubes.
  2. Chop the onion and green chillies.
  3. Add 5 tbsp of oil in a non-stick pan and add mustard seeds, zeera, green chilies, chana dal and onions for the tadka. Saute it till the onions turn golden brown.
  4. Add salt, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste then saute once again. Add coriander powder, bottle guard and mix all the ingredients very well and let it cook for 5minutes.
  5. Now add milk to this mixture and let it cook till the bottle guard becomes soft. You can even add water if it's required.
  6. Once the bottle guard is cooked, sprinkle garam masala and coriander leaves. Have it with chapati/phulka.
