ABOUT Chocolate Kheer - Chocolate Rice Pudding RECIPE

There is an apt saying called everything is fair in love and war but I extend it to chocolate. There are few foods that I feel passionate about -- a passion that goes beyond everything else.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 500ml Milk + 1/2 cup milk
  2. 1 tbsp Basmati rice
  3. 2 tbsp Sugar
  4. ½ cup Dark Chocolate
  5. Cashews for garnishing
  6. Chocolate Shavings for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat 500 ml milk in a deep non stick pan. Add rice and cook till completely soft. Stir continuously till milk is reduced.
  2. This process may take around 20 - 25 minutes. If you have less time in your hand, you can use cooked rice to prepare this instant Kheer.
  3. Once rice is fully cooked, add sugar and mix well. You can check for the sweetness, if you feel you need more sugar you can add more as per your taste and preference.
  4. Keep a bowl of dark chocolate in microwave and melt for 1 minute stirring at an interval of 30 seconds. Once the chocolate melts add the remaining ½ cup milk and form a chocolate sauce.
  5. Alternatively you can put the chocolate in a bowl and melt on a double boiler till the chocolate melts and then add the milk to form a chocolate sauce.
  6. Pour a little of this chocolate sauce into each serving glass. Pour the kheer and garnish with chocolate shavings and cashew.
  7. Enjoy this fusion kheer either hot or cold.
