Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rajma 2 cups washed and soaked in enough water for 8 hrs or over night
  2. Palak leaves 7_8 big, wash and make puree with little water
  3. Onion 2
  4. Garlic and ginger paste 1 tsp
  5. Bay leaf 1
  6. Whole garam masala (2 cardamom, 2 cloves, 1 inch cinnamon stick )
  7. Tomato 2, make puree with very little water
  8. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  9. Coriander powder 2 tsp
  10. Cumin powder 1 tsp
  11. Oil 2 tsp or as required
  12. Chilli Powder 1 1/2 tsp
  13. Salt as per your taste
  14. Garam masala powder 1/4 tsp
  15. Hing a pinch

Instructions

  1. Cook rajma in pressure cooker with enough water and salt for 4_5 whistles, sometime, it is not boiled still then put 1_2 more whistle
  2. Keep aside to release the steam, for 20 mins or more
  3. Now strain the rajma and preserve 1 cup water for gravy
  4. Now heat a nonstick pan
  5. Add oil
  6. Once oil is hot enough, add whole garam masala, hing, bay leaf
  7. Saute for 30 seconds
  8. Add finely chopped 1 onion
  9. Make paste of another onion
  10. Saute onion and spices until light brown
  11. Now add ginger garlic paste
  12. Onion paste
  13. Saute for 2 mins
  14. Now add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and chilli powder
  15. Again saute for 2_3 mins
  16. Now add tomato puree and palak puree, cook for 5 mins
  17. Add rajma and salt
  18. Mix and stir for 3_4 mins
  19. Now add water, 1 cup
  20. Cook for another 7_8 mins in medium heat
  21. Check for salt and other spices
  22. Add garam masala
  23. Switch off gas
  24. Garnish with chopped coriander, onion and green chilli
