Perfect, crisp tandoori rotis made easily at home using your pressure cooker!

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 4 cups wholewheat flour (atta)
  2. 200 ml water
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Kashmiri chilli powder (Deggi mirch) to taste
  5. 1/2 cup chopped coriander
  6. Ghee as required

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl take wholewheat flour, add water and knead into a soft dough (will take 15-20 minutes).
  2. Cover and let this dough rest overnight.
  3. Heat a pressure cooker upside down on high flame. Cooker should be very hot.
  4. Make equal sized balls with the dough.
  5. Take one ball and roll it out flat. Apply ghee on the surface and make a fan. Twist to make a dough coil. Press down again, apply ghee then sprinkle salt, Kashmiri red chilli powder and lastly chopped fresh coriander.
  6. Turn over and roll out the dough into a thick disc.
  7. Use water to help stick the roti on to the sides of the pressure cooker. Let it cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Serve hot.
