ABOUT Egg Roll (Indian Street Food) RECIPE

Egg roll is a very famous snack in India especially in Kolkata. A quick and easy recipe that saves time and gives you the fabulous experience of street food at home with a healthy touch.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 cooked rotis
  2. 2 Eggs
  3. 1 medium sized onion thinly sliced
  4. 1 small tomato thinly sliced
  5. 2 Green chillies finely chopped
  6. 1/4 tsp pepper powder
  7. 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  8. A dash of chaat masala (optional)
  9. Oil to fry
  10. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, beat an egg with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add the egg. Quickly place the cooked rotis on the wet egg mixture so that it sticks well. Keep drizzling oil and cook it well on both sides.
  3. In the mean while, mix the sliced onions,tomato, chillies and lime juice in a separate bowl.
  4. Place the egg paratha, ( egg side up) on a plate. Place the onion mixture in the centre, sprinkle a pinch of salt and chaat masala.
  5. Roll tightly and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
