ABOUT A Valentines Day Rose RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup whole wheat flour
  2. 1/2 cup Milk
  3. 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
  4. 1/2 Teaspoon Sugar
  5. 1-2 tablespoon butter / oil
  6. 1 tablespoon milk or oil to brush

Instructions

  1. Take the milk and add sugar and heat to lukewarm.
  2. Sprinkle the yeast and leave undisturbed in a warm place for 5 minutes to bloom.
  3. Meanwhile heat up the oven at 150 degrees for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Take the atta, salt and add the yeast mix.
  5. Knead for 7-8 minutes.
  6. Use up the 2 tablespoon oil while kneading.
  7. Keep in an oiled bowl and place in the warm oven.
  8. It will double up in 25-30 minutes.
  9. Punch it once to deflate.
  10. Take out four small balls.
  11. Roll them out to about 1.5 to 2 inches.
  12. Place one and keep the second one on it covering it upto half.
  13. Now on this second roll, similarly place the third.
  14. Place the fourth in a similar way on the third.
  15. Now from the outer edge of the fourth round, roll gently towards the inside.
  16. Cut this right in the centre to get two roses from each.
  17. Straighten them and make as many as you want.
  18. Keep undisturbed for 8 minutes to rise.
  19. Meanwhile ready the oven by preheating at 190 degrees for 10 minutes.
  20. Keep both the rods on.
  21. Place the roses in a lined baking tray and brush with melted butter or milk.
  22. Bake for 7 minutes.
  23. Raise the temperature to 250 degrees and bake for 1 minute to get brownish tinges.
  24. Remove and cool on wire rake or serve hot.
  25. Generally, dough takes a minimum 1 hour to rise, in warm weather.
  26. But by placing in a warm oven, time taken is reduced to half.
  27. Please eyeball it a bit as all oven work differently.
