Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Puffed Rice .. .......................100 grams
  2. Onions thinly sliced ........... 1 medium
  3. Roasted Gram Powder....... 2 tablespoons
  4. Salt ....................................... to taste
  5. Turmeric Powder .............. 1/4 teaspoon
  6. Chilli powder ........................1/4 teaspoon
  7. Green Chillies .................... 1
  8. Mustard Seeds .................. 1 tsp
  9. Cumin Seeds ...................... 1 teaspoon
  10. Whole Red Chillies ..... 2 (broken)
  11. Curry Leaves...................... 1 sprig
  12. Asafoetida (hing) ................ a pinch
  13. Oil .......... 3 tablespoons
  14. Coriander and lemon wedges............................ for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Soak puffed rice in water for 5 mins and drain. Squeeze out the water well. Transfer in a bowl.
  2. Mix it with salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder & roasted gram powder.
  3. Heat oil. Add hing, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, red chillies and green chillies. Add the onions and fry till pink. Add puffed rice and mix well. Check for salt.
  4. Saute for 1 minute and cover the lid and keep it for half a minute on low flame.
  5. Give a stir again to separate the grains. Remove in a serving dish. Garnish with coriander leaves and lemon wedges before serving.
