ABOUT Quick Masala Rice RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Washed white rice 1 cup
  2. Edible oil 1 tablespoon
  3. Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  4. Dry Red chilli 1
  5. Asafoetida a pinch
  6. chopped onion 1 medium sized
  7. Chopped potato 1 medium sized
  8. Ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  9. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  11. Cumin-coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  12. Garam masala 1/2 teaspoon
  13. Water as required
  14. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add mustard seeds & let them splutter. Add dry red chilli & asafoetida.
  2. Add chopped onion & saute for a minute. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute again for few seconds. Add in chopped potato & mix well.
  3. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin-coriander powder and garam masala & mix well.
  4. Add a dash of water to prevent the masalas from getting burned & mix till the oil separates.
  5. Add the wash white rice and mix properly. Add 2 cups of water & salt to taste.
  6. Once it starts boiling, close the lid & cook till 1 whistle.
  7. Once the cooker cools, serve the tasty and easy to make MASALA RICE.
