This is a very tasty and quick recipe if you are running short of onion and tomatoes at home..This gravy has only curd which gives a unique taste to the gravy. Daalwada can be made or bought readymade too and can be just added to the gravy with hot phulkas..

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Channa daal 1/2 cup ( Soaked for 2 hours)
  2. Onion 1 chopped
  3. green chillie 1
  4. Salt
  5. Red chilli powder
  6. Turmeric
  7. Oil for Deep frying
  8. Curd 1/2 cup
  9. salt as per taste
  10. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  11. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  12. Jeera powder 1 tsp
  13. Hing a pinch

Instructions

  1. Soak daal and strain water
  2. Grind coarsely
  3. Add onion chilli and masalaa
  4. Apply a lil oil on palm and flatten the wadas and deep fry till golden brown.
  5. Take curd and add all masalas with a little besan in it except salt
  6. Take pan/ Kadahi and add ghee/oil
  7. Add jeera/ mustard and hing
  8. Add whisked curd with masalas
  9. Saute till oil comes out
  10. Add water or butter milk to adjust consistency
  11. Lastly add salt
  12. Break daalwada into small pieces and add into this curd gravy.
  13. Daalwade in curd gravy is ready..Garnish with coriander and serve with roti.
