Muslim style biryani is very tasty and flavourful,which is adorable by everyone.They serve the biryani with Brinjal gravy,it taste is awesome.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Small eggplants -8
  2. Tamarind Extract -1 Cup
  3. Turmeric Powder -1/4 tsp
  4. Sambar Powder - 1 tsp
  5. Red chilli powder -2 tsp
  6. Salt -To taste
  7. Jaggery -1 tsp
  8. Oil -2 1/2 tbsp
  9. To Temper :
  10. Peppercorns -10
  11. Curry leaves -1 sprig
  12. To Dry roast :
  13. Sesame seeds - 1 tsp
  14. Peanuts -2 tbsp
  15. Fenugreek seeds -1/4 tsp

Instructions

  1. *Wash and Wipe theeggplants.Slit them to have four cuts leaving the stem .Dont cut it fully else it will get mashed away.
  2. Dry roast the ongredients given under"To dry roast" seperately and grind to a fine powder.keep it aside.
  3. In a kadai,add oil and temper with peppercorns &curry leaves,then add the slit brinjals.In a low flame cook and covered it.Once it half cooked add the sambar powder,turmeric powder,red chilli powder.saute well until the raw smell goes away.
  4. Now add the tamarind extract,bring to boil.Once the raw smell goes away and the curry is thicken then add the salt and ground powder.Mix well
  5. Cook in low flame until the oil oozes out.Finally add the jaggery and stir it.Switch off the flame.Serve with Biryani/Pulao or Kushka
